Reference Artist

The master artist I have chosen was Vincent Van Gogh of the mid 1800s. Some of his paintings include The Potato Eaters, Irises and The Starry Night.

I like his style of post impressionism. In my painting of the tiger I will try to incorporate that style of his.

A current artist I found to be influencing was Jeremy Lipking. His style includes more realism which is the opposite of Van Goghs paintings. Lipkings creations include many paintings of women especially.

I like how his paintings come out really crisp and I also want to incorporate realism with post impressionism in some way.

Red tree with colors

To create this partner piece I needed my partner, Claire. We started  with forming an idea that first began with the Starry Night by Van Gogh painting in a tile form. We then decided that with the time given we should do something more small and unique. We also want to incorporate many glaze colors that seem pretty. Inspiration to finally come up with a red tree with many colors included looking at pictures of trees, abstract art, and basic knowledge of the color wheel.

Looking at how the roots come out of the tree helped us both use the pin tool to create the branches very intricately. Then we are going to choose colors that you dont find often in nature, so were thinking of bright reds pinks and purples. No dark colors at all.

Our progress so far is just having the designs etched in by pin tools.
